For 38 minutes, the Eastern Mennonite women's soccer team hung with Shenandoah on the road. The Hornets then used a surge at the end of the first half to take control and roll to a 6-0 win over the Lady Royals.
SU took an early lead with a goal in the sixth minute, but the women frustrated the home team from there. The Hornets broke through again late in the 39th minute and added two more to lead 4-0 at halftime.
Two more goals in the second half provided the final 6-0 score.
Morgan Hill (Martinsville, VA/Carlisle) had both of the Lady Royals shots, with both on goal. Becca Borg (Gig Harbor, WA/Peninsula) made nine saves in the loss.
EMU, now 3-11-1 overall and 0-9-1 in the ODAC, plays at Emory & Henry on Saturday, with a 5:00pm start time.
