The EMU soccer men traveled to Tennessee on Friday and lost 1-0 against Sewanee to a late goal scored in the 88th minute.

The Tigers defense was pressing on the Royals only allowing one shot in the first half, and five in the match. EMU was able to counter the pressure to hold their hosts scoreless through the first 87 minutes.

But in the 88th minute, Tashinga Vhumisai found enough space to break the tie and give the advantage to Sewanee.

Troy Davis (Gainesville, Va./Patriot) fired off four shots for EMU while Ahmed Zaatar (Barboursville, Va./William Monroe) had five saves in goal.

The Royals will play another game as part of the Kyle Rote, Jr. Invitational in Sewanee, Tenn. tomorrow, Saturday, against Berry at 3:00pm.
