DANVILLE, Va. - The EMU men's soccer team traveled down to Danville on Wednesday, putting their four-game unbeaten streak on the line. The Royals got down by two, battled back but fell just short as Averett picked up the 3-2 home win.

Highlights
- 3' - Andrew Arledge picked up his first save of the game early on when Agustin Jaraba put a shot on net. Arledge came up with the save, keeping the game scoreless.
- 25' - EMU got on the board first, taking a 1-0 lead in the 25th minute. Dallas Organek was fouled by Averett's Sebastian Weijdegaard in the box, leading to a penalty kick. Organek buried the shot and put EMU ahead.
- 37' - The Cougars were able to tie things up with some help from the Royals. An EMU own goal led to the tying score for Averett and sent the teams to halftime tied at one.
- 50' & 64' - Averett pulled ahead with a pair of goals in the second half, one from Weijdegaard and another EMU own goal, giving AU a 3-1 lead.
- 85' - EMU pulled within one late in the game when Kaden Schrock put one past the Cougars keeper. But unfortunately for the Royals, they wouldn't be able to pick up the equalizer and their four-game unbeaten streak was broken.
