HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. - The EMU men's soccer team made the trek down to Hampden-Sydney on Saturday, squaring off the Tigers in a pivotal ODAC matchup.
Three first half goals from HSC was enough for the Tigers as they picked up the 5-1 win over EMU.

Highlights
- 13' - Andrew Arledge was able to pick up his first save in the sixth minute of the game to keep things scoreless, but seven minutes later, HSC's Pierce Boerner was able to find the back of the net to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead.
- HSC was able to tack on two more in the half to give themselves a 3-0 lead at the break.
- The Tigers added two more goals in the second half, but the Royals offense started to pressure HSC more, getting into the Tigers offensive zone more than the first half.
- 68' - In the 68th minute, Dimas Portillo was able to get a shot on goal that beat the HSC keeper, cutting into the Tigers lead.
- The Royals had two more shot opportunities in the final minutes, but neither were able to hit paydirt.

What's Next
EMU will celebrate its seniors on Wednesday as they take on cross-town, and ODAC, rival, Bridgewater at home. It's also the Rowdy Royals game for men's soccer. Kickoff is at 7 pm.
